Get ready for some liquid metal mayhem! NetherRealm Studios has unleashed the first gameplay footage of the T-1000, the latest DLC guest character joining the brutal fray in Mortal Kombat 1. This isn't your average robot; the T-1000 showcases a range of attacks reminiscent of Terminator 2, utilizing its signature morphing abilities and bladed weaponry. His moveset blends elements reminiscent of Baraka and Kabal, culminating in a spectacular liquid metal uppercut that'll leave opponents seeing stars. Adding another layer of authenticity, the legendary Robert Patrick, the actor who portrayed the T-1000 in the original film, provides his voice and likeness for this iteration, adding an extra layer of immersion. The teaser even includes a glimpse of a fatality that faithfully recreates the iconic truck chase scene from Terminator 2, ending with Johnny Cage receiving a lead-filled farewell.

PlayBut that's not all! NetherRealm surprised fans with the announcement of Madam Bo, a beloved character from the base game's story, as a new DLC Kameo fighter. This seemingly unassuming restaurant owner, who bravely faced off against Smoke and his henchmen, will now be lending her assistance in the battles to come. Brief glimpses of Madam Bo in action are shown in the trailer, highlighting her potential as a valuable ally.

The T-1000 arrives in Mortal Kombat 1 on March 18th for early access via the Khaos Reigns expansion, with general availability on March 25th. Madam Bo joins the fight on March 18th as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners or as a separate purchase.

The T-1000 marks the final DLC character for the Khaos Reigns expansion, following the additions of Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian. While fan speculation about a potential third DLC pack or Kombat Pack 3 persists, Warner Bros. Discovery's continued investment in the Mortal Kombat franchise, as evidenced by CEO David Zaslav's commitment to doubling down on only four key titles, including Mortal Kombat, suggests a bright future for the series.

Madam Bo is coming to Mortal Kombat 1 as a Kameo fighter.
Ed Boon, NetherRealm's creative director, previously stated that the studio had already decided on its next project three years prior, while assuring fans of continued support for Mortal Kombat 1. While many anticipate a third installment in the Injustice franchise, neither NetherRealm nor Warner Bros. has confirmed this. Boon previously alluded to various factors influencing the decision to develop another Mortal Kombat title instead of Injustice, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to a newer Unreal Engine. However, he has definitively stated that the Injustice franchise is not closed off.
