Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Extended 24 Hours Post-PSN Outage

Author:Kristen Update:May 13,2025

Capcom has announced an extension to the Monster Hunter Wilds beta, following a 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN) that disrupted the previous testing session. The PSN experienced an "operational issue" starting at around 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services were not restored until approximately 24 hours later. In response to the outage, Sony provided all PlayStation Plus members with an additional five days of service as compensation.

The downtime significantly impacted online gaming, including single-player games that require server authentication or a constant internet connection. The second beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds, scheduled from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9, was among the affected sessions, cutting short what was an eagerly anticipated event for fans.

In response, Capcom has extended the next beta session by 24 hours. The revised schedule will now run from Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PT / Friday, February 14 at 3am GMT to Monday, February 17 at 6:59 pm PT / Tuesday, February 18 at 2:59 am GMT. During this extended period, participants will still be eligible to earn the participation bonuses that will carry over to the full game upon its release.

Despite the disruption, players were able to engage with the game's challenging new monster, Arkveld, during the initial beta phase. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
