Metaphor: ReFantazio has a chance to become a series - game director

Hashino, when discussing Atlus' future plans, expressed a strong interest in developing a game set during Japan's Sengoku period. He envisions this historical setting as ideal for a new Japanese role-playing game (JRPG), potentially drawing inspiration from the Basara series.

Regarding Metaphor: ReFantazio, Hashino confirmed there are no current plans for a direct sequel. His focus remains on completing the current project, a title he initially conceived as a third major JRPG franchise alongside Persona and Shin Megami Tensei, aiming for it to become a flagship Atlus title. While a sequel isn't on the immediate horizon, an anime adaptation is under consideration.

Metaphor: ReFantazio has achieved remarkable success, boasting a peak concurrent player count exceeding 85,961—significantly surpassing the concurrent player counts of Persona 5 Royal (35,474) and Persona 3 Reload (45,002). The game is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
