Metal Gear Solid Delta drops Snake Eater opening movie

Author:Kristen Update:Nov 19,2025

As anticipation builds for the August launch of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami has unveiled the stealth title's opening cinematic sequence.

The intro carries strong nostalgic resonance for longtime fans despite minor updates, recognizably mirroring the original's newspaper montage opening and the return of Cynthia Harrell performing the signature James Bond-inspired theme song.

The footage previews key moments from the upcoming game – shown without context – including Snake's dramatic backwards waterfall plunge and the iconic snake-eating sequence. Classic Metal Gear moments indeed.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater revives Konami's acclaimed 2004 tactical espionage classic under its new Delta moniker. The publisher recently confirmed an August 28 release date alongside news that the fan-favorite Snake vs. Monkey minigame will return. The remake will preserve the original's mature content, including the suggestive Peep Demo Theatre scenes per age rating disclosures.

"Metal Gear Solid Delta leans more toward a polished HD remaster than a comprehensive remake," noted IGN's Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater preview, which examines Snake's new first-person viewpoint. "It delivers a visually stunning nostalgia trip, though perhaps too faithfully at times." The original Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater earned our exceptional 9.6/10 rating.
