Writer and filmmaker Ahmed Alameen is set to release his debut point-and-click adventure game, My Father Lied, on May 30th. This solo-developed game draws heavily on Mesopotamian history and offers a narrative-driven experience filled with puzzles and mystery.

In My Father Lied, you step into the shoes of Huda, a young woman on a quest to uncover the truth behind her father's disappearance. The intrigue deepens when Huda discovers she has a brother her father never mentioned, prompting her to delve into the mystery that has haunted her family for two decades.

Initially, Alameen embarked on this project with a college classmate, serving as the narrative designer. However, after the partnership dissolved, he took it upon himself to master game design and complete the project solo.

As you navigate through My Father Lied, you'll employ classic point-and-click mechanics to explore captivating environments and tackle a variety of puzzles. From piecing together images to cracking codes, your journey will be both challenging and immersive. Alameen describes the game as a unique blend of Myst, Heaven's Vault, and the eerie storytelling of H.P. Lovecraft.

To achieve high-quality visuals that are accessible on lower-end PCs, Alameen opted for a creative approach, blending 2D and 360-degree images. This technique extends to the game's cutscenes, which were meticulously crafted frame by frame.

My Father Lied will be available on the App Store, Google Play, and PC via Steam for $10.99/€10.99 starting May 30th.
