Marvel Rivals Season 1: A New York City Nightscape of Maps

Marvel Rivals' first season continues to expand its content, introducing a range of new maps themed around a nocturnal New York City. Beyond the Fantastic Four additions and cosmetic updates, players can now explore several new battlegrounds. Here's a breakdown of each map in Season 1.

Table of Contents

  • Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
  • Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
  • Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown

Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown

Launching alongside Season 1, Midtown is a Convoy map designed for the game's payload mode. Players either escort or defend a moving vehicle across this dark, Dracula-infused version of Midtown Manhattan. This is the third Convoy map in Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands.

Key Points of Interest include iconic Marvel and real-world locations:

  • Baxter Building
  • Grand Central Terminal
  • Stark/Avengers Tower
  • Fisk Tower
  • Ardmore’s Bookstore
  • Timely Trend

Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum

Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum

This unique map, a dark rendition of Doctor Strange's Sanctum Santorum, is exclusive to the Doom Match mode—a free-for-all deathmatch. Top-performing players earn wins, with the best player crowned MVP.

The Sanctum Santorum, faithfully recreated from its comic book origins (first appearing in 1963) and MCU appearances, serves as Earth's supernatural defense in this season. Expect hidden secrets, impossible architecture, portals, and even a chance encounter with Bats the Ghost Dog.

Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

Expected to arrive later in Season 1, Central Park is set to feature a stylized Belvedere Castle as its centerpiece. This iconic Manhattan location, situated at one of the park's highest points, provides a dramatic Gothic backdrop for the Empire of Eternal Night theme, potentially serving as Dracula's New York City hideout. The map's design draws inspiration from its numerous appearances in Marvel properties, most recently in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (2023).

These are all the new maps currently planned for Marvel Rivals Season 1.
