Dive into the electrifying world of Marvel Rivals, the free-to-play PvP hero shooter where you command your favorite Marvel heroes. Test your skills in the competitive mode and climb the ranks to prove your mastery. This guide covers everything you need to know about the competitive rank reset.

How Does the Competitive Rank Reset Work in Marvel Rivals?

The competitive rank reset in Marvel Rivals is straightforward. At the end of each season, your rank drops seven tiers. For example, ending the season at Diamond I means you'll begin the next season at Gold II. If you finish in Bronze III, the lowest tier, you'll naturally start there again.

When Does the Rank Reset Happen?

The competitive rank reset occurs at the conclusion of each season. Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, starting January 10th (at the time of writing), provides a benchmark for future resets.

New players should note that competitive mode unlocks at player level 10, easily achievable through normal gameplay. Earn points in competitive matches to climb the ranks; every 100 points earns you a new tier.

Here's the complete rank structure:

  • Bronze (III-I)
  • Silver (III-I)
  • Gold (III-I)
  • Platinum (III-I)
  • Diamond (III-I)
  • Grandmaster (III-I)
  • Eternity
  • One Above All (Top 500 Leaderboard)

Even after reaching Grandmaster I, you can continue playing and earning points to achieve Eternity and One Above All, the latter requiring a top 500 leaderboard placement.

How Long Do Seasons Last in Marvel Rivals?

While Season 0 was shorter, subsequent seasons are expected to last approximately three months. New seasons will introduce fresh content, including new heroes (like the Fantastic Four) and maps, giving you ample time to climb the ranks.
