Marvel Rivals follows the footsteps of Overwatch with its Spring Festival event

Marvel Rivals is launching a major Spring Festival event this Thursday! Get ready for a free Star-Lord costume and a brand-new game mode: Clash of Dancing Lions.

In this 3v3 mode, teams compete to score a ball in the opposing goal. While the gameplay might remind some of Rocket League, it bears a closer resemblance to Overwatch's Lucioball – a point of interesting comparison.

Currently, Marvel Rivals appears to be outperforming Overwatch, necessitating the creation of unique content to establish a distinct identity and differentiate itself from its Blizzard counterpart. Ironically, this initial large-scale event features a game mode strikingly similar to Overwatch's inaugural event. The key difference lies in the thematic presentation: Olympics for Overwatch, vibrant Chinese New Year festivities for Marvel Rivals.
