Magic: The Gathering & Final Fantasy Secret Lair Sells Out

Author:Kristen Update:Dec 14,2025

Magic: The Gathering x Final Fantasy finally arrives this week. While collectors can pick up boosters, Commander decks, and even a new Starter Kit (if they can find it in stock), the new Secret Lair drops are likely to attract the most attention from dedicated fans.

It's been an active year for Wizards of the Coast's limited-run mini-sets. Although the company sold out of all three Final Fantasy drops remarkably quickly (which left many fans empty-handed), you can still purchase them from third-party vendors — if you're prepared to pay the premium prices.

All Final Fantasy Secret Lair Drops and Where to Buy Them

Before we dive in, it's important to note that Secret Lair drops purchased from resellers won't be available at their original Wizards of the Coast prices (typically $30 for nonfoil and $40 for rainbow foil). Most listings now range from $80 to $150 or even higher.

This substantial markup means you should be absolutely certain about what you're buying. While eBay is an option, we generally find TCGPlayer (though owned by eBay) to be the safest and most reliable platform for acquiring Secret Lair drops after their official release.

The Final Fantasy Secret Lair collection features three distinct sets: Weapons, Grimoire, and Game Over. Each set presents Magic: The Gathering cards with unique artwork and names, available in both standard and foil versions, as well as Japanese variants.

Here’s your guide to purchasing each one, including what's inside and the essential details to help you decide whether these premium third-party listings are worth adding to your collection.

Weapons

As the name suggests, the Weapons drop highlights iconic armaments from the celebrated RPG series. It includes the following cards:

Yuna’s Sending Staff (Staff of the Storyteller) - Final Fantasy 10Clive’s Invictus Blade (Blade of Selves) - Final Fantasy 16Cloud’s Buster Sword (Umezawa’s Jitte) - Final Fantasy 7Gaia’s Dark Hammer (Colossus Hammer) - Final Fantasy 14Tidus’s Brotherhood Sword (Sword of Truth and Justice) - Final Fantasy 10
