What Are Luma Eggs on Luma Island?

Luma Eggs, initially called Mysterious Eggs, are collectible treasures found on Luma Island. When incubated, these eggs hatch into Luma creatures, aiding you on your farm and in your quests.

Various Luma species emerge from these Mysterious Eggs, making it essential to collect them all for a diverse group of charming helpers. The type of Luma that hatches is random, so you’ll only know what you’ve got once it emerges.

Where to Locate Luma Eggs on Luma Island

Luma Eggs are typically found in two places on Luma Island: within the enigmatic Ruins and behind Shrine offering doors. Each Ruin and Shrine in an area hides one Luma Egg for you to uncover.

Here’s a guide to the number of Luma Eggs you can find as you explore each new region of Luma Island.

To find eggs in the Ruins, venture deep into their chambers. The Mysterious Egg is often located in one of the final rooms, requiring you to complete the exploration to secure it.

Shrine doors, on the other hand, demand Tepid Offering Crystals to unlock. These crystals are scattered in hard-to-reach spots across each area. Once you gather enough to open the door, a Luma Egg is usually found in one of the reward chests.

How to Hatch Luma Eggs on Luma Island

Once you’ve collected Mysterious Eggs on Luma Island, hatching them is the next step. This task may appear as a quest, though its timing varies based on your chosen profession. For example, as a budding Cook, it appeared after completing my first two major recipes during a break in professional tasks.

To hatch Luma Eggs, construct Luma Incubators. You can purchase the blueprint for 500 coins at Balthazar’s shop stall, located just inside town to the left of the entrance. After acquiring the blueprint, gather these materials to craft the incubator:

With the Luma Incubator built, use it to create Luma Life and hatch your eggs. Craft Luma Life using various island essences, then combine it with a Mysterious Egg to bring a new Luma to life.

Unhatched Luma appear as “Mysterious Creature” with a vague silhouette of their form. Wait a few minutes after starting the process, and you’ll meet your new Luma companion.

After hatching, pet your Luma to strengthen your bond, encouraging it to assist with farm tasks.
