Netflix has recently unveiled the opening trailer for the highly anticipated anime adaptation of the iconic video game series, Devil May Cry. The trailer, set against the backdrop of the legendary track "Rollin'" by the nu-metal band Limp Bizkit, offers fans a thrilling glimpse into the world of young Dante, Lady, and White Rabbit. The dynamic scenes are packed with nods to the beloved games, sparking excitement among the franchise's dedicated fanbase.

Showrunner Adi Shankar has shared his ambitious vision for the series, which is set in the late 90s to early 2000s. Shankar believes that the soundtrack perfectly captures the essence of that era. In addition to Limp Bizkit, the series will feature other iconic tracks from the time, as well as a reimagined soundtrack from the games, crafted by the synthwave duo Power Glove.

Shankar also hinted at the future of the anime, revealing that subsequent seasons will showcase a variety of visual styles and soundtracks. This approach aims to reflect the diversity found within the Devil May Cry games, indirectly confirming that the series is planned to extend beyond a single season.

While plot details remain under wraps, the first season is expected to draw inspiration from the manga "Code 1: Dante" (Devil May Cry 3). The storyline will follow a young demon hunter as he investigates a child's disappearance, leading him to confront his past, his family, and the legacy of his demon father, Sparda.

The first season of the Devil May Cry anime will consist of 8 episodes and is scheduled to premiere on April 3, 2025. Fans of the series can look forward to a nostalgic yet fresh take on the beloved franchise.
