Leaked: Early Battlefield 6 Footage Appears Online

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 06,2025

Exciting news for fans of the Battlefield series: early gameplay footage of EA's upcoming Battlefield game has surfaced online, following a closed playtest. As reported by TheGamer, a Twitch user named anto_merguezz streamed footage from EA's exclusive Battlefield Labs playtest, designed to gather feedback from a select group of players to refine the game. Although the original stream is no longer available on anto_merguezz's page, the footage has been captured and shared across various platforms, notably on Reddit.

The leaked footage seems to validate the "modern" setting hinted at by Vince Zampella, setting this installment apart from its predecessors with historical or futuristic themes. Viewers are treated to glimpses of intense firefights and the game's signature destructible environments. The community's initial reaction has been largely positive, a promising sign especially after the lukewarm reception to Battlefield 2042 at its launch.

Just last month, we received our first official glimpse of what to expect from the next Battlefield game. One of the most anticipated features is the return of a traditional, single-player, linear campaign, a move that has been warmly received by fans who missed this element in the multiplayer-focused Battlefield 2042.

EA has slated the release of this new Battlefield title for fiscal 2026, which spans from April 2025 to March 2026. As the launch date approaches, we can anticipate more official reveals from EA. Given the recent leaks, it's clear that EA will need to accelerate their official unveilings to keep ahead of the curve.

IGN has reached out to EA for further comments on this matter.
