Lara Croft: Guardian of Light Now Available on iOS and Android

During what we might tentatively call Lara Croft's dark ages, when the series took a brief hiatus, one of the attempts to reinvent it came in the form of the unique twin-stick shooter, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Now, fans of the 2010 original can relive the nostalgia by playing it on their mobile devices, as it's now available on both iOS and Android!

In Lara Croft: Guardian of Light, the iconic tomb raider teams up with the immortal Mayan warrior Totec to prevent the release of an ancient evil. True to its cooperative nature, the game supports both local and online multiplayer, courtesy of Feral Interactive.

While the game leans heavily into action, it doesn't skimp on puzzles. From classic parkour to more cerebral trap-laden challenges, players will find plenty of opportunities to engage their minds between bouts of shooting. The game also offers diverse environments to explore, ranging from toxic swamps to endless tombs and volcanic caverns, ensuring that action isn't the only draw.

Ever since their porting of the excellent Alien: Isolation, Feral Interactive has set the gold standard for mobile adaptations of popular titles. Even their somewhat divisive remaster of Total War: Rome was solid in terms of mechanics, proving that when it comes to classics, it's tough to please everyone.
