Should You Give Keipo the Leviathan Heart in Avowed?

In Avowed's "Heart of Valor" quest, the final decision regarding Keipo and the Leviathan Heart presents a difficult choice. After discovering Keipo's secret about his partner Umpara and his affliction with the Dreamscourge, the player faces multiple branching narrative paths. The key decision revolves around whether to give Keipo the heart, leading to unique loot based on the player's choice. However, meticulous dialogue selection allows acquisition of all available rewards.

Should You Give Keipo the Leviathan Heart?

It's strongly recommended not to give Keipo the Leviathan Heart. This path unlocks all potential loot while preserving Thirdborn's hope by keeping Keipo's secret. This requires reading Keipo's Weathered Journal (found by activating a button on a nearby stone structure).

Rewards:

• Giving Keipo the Heart: Rewards the player with Umpara's Spear, an Exceptional Quality +1/3 weapon.

• Not Giving Keipo the Heart: Rewards the player with the Stormdancer armor set (Scale, Gloves, Boots, Ring), and the Leviathan Heart as a unique trinket (+20% Attack Damage, at the cost of slow health drain). This also requires specific dialogue choices with Chiko.

To obtain the Stormdancer armor, choose these options when Chiko says, "I'm sorry my uncle is sick...": "Uh…about that. He’s not just sick. It’s the Dreamscourge.” “He wanted to die before he turned. He was trying to keep you safe.” “There is one way. We just stopped him from doing it.”

Obtaining All Loot:

To acquire all rewards (Umpara's Spear, Stormdancer armor, and the Leviathan Heart), follow this precise dialogue order:

Keipo:

1. “We need to talk. Now.”
2. “Come clean. Chiko told me you want to end your life.”
3. “We wouldn’t be having this conversation if you had the Dreamscourge.”
4. “I’m sorry. I can’t give you the heart.”
5. “I respect your choice. But I can’t be a part of it.”
6. “Listen. I…I know what happened to Umpara.”
7. “And? Why didn’t you tell the truth?”
8. “That’s why you really trapped the ruins. So no one would find out.”
9. “No. The truth would do more harm than good.”

Chiko: (After refusing to give Keipo the heart)

1. “Don’t worry. It’s right here with me.”
2. “He wanted to take his own life with it. Chiko stepped in to prevent that.”
3. “Let me hold onto it. I’ll take it far away and keep it safe.”
4. “[Lie] No, that was all.”
5. “Uh…about that. He’s not just sick. It’s the Dreamscourge.”
