Hot to Get Tier II/Fine Weapons and Armor in Avowed

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 17,2025

In Avowed, upgrading your weapons is crucial for survival. Early game encounters feature Common (Level I) weapons and enemies, but the difficulty quickly escalates to Level II, demanding Fine (Level II) gear. This guide explains how to acquire Tier II/Fine weapons and armor.

Upgrading Weapons and Armor from Common (I) to Fine (II)

While some Fine Quality weapons and armor can be found or purchased, others require upgrading. Avowed uses a two-part system to track gear effectiveness: Quality (indicated by descriptor, color, and Roman numeral) and Enhancement Levels (+1 to +3). Common (Green, I) gear needs to be upgraded through three enhancement levels (+1, +2, +3) before reaching Fine (Blue, II) status.

This upgrading process takes place at Party Camps. Each camp has a workbench for upgrading, requiring specific materials for each enhancement level. The final upgrade to Fine (II) necessitates Adra, a rare crystal obtained through quests, merchants, or by dismantling Unique items.

Upgrading is resource-intensive. Alternatively, Fine (II) gear can occasionally spawn on Level II enemies, especially Bounties, in Dawnshore early in the game. However, Common gear is significantly less effective against Level II enemies.

Fine weapons and armor are also sold by merchants in Paradis, accessible after defeating the Dreamscourge bear boss in Dawnshore. Two sister merchants near the Paradis Bounty Board offer excellent Fine gear: Merlylin sells magical items (grimoires, wands), while her blacksmith sister sells standard weapons and armor (pictured above).

This concludes your guide to obtaining Fine weapons and armor in Avowed.
