Might & Magic: Olden Era Starts Arena Beta

Unfrozen Reveals Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era Gameplay Trailer

Unfrozen has unveiled an exciting new trailer for Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, offering players a closer look at core gameplay mechanics, unit types, and strategic elements. The studio has also opened registrations for the closed beta test of its competitive "Arena" mode, accessible through the game's Steam page. The testing period will run from March 17 to March 28.

A Nostalgic Yet Fresh Strategy Experience

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is slated for Steam Early Access in Q2 2025, with Ubisoft handling publishing duties. Upon launch, players can expect six distinct factions, three single-player campaign modes, and three multiplayer options, catering to different playstyles.

Earlier this month, Unfrozen introduced the Dungeon faction, featuring classic units like troglodytes, dark elves, minotaurs, medusas, hydras, and dragons—each contributing unique tactical advantages and diversifying battlefield strategies.

Overcoming Development Challenges

The Unfrozen team faced significant hurdles while refining the Arena mode—particularly in balancing hero skills and abilities due to confined battle spaces and the absence of starting advantages. Through rigorous testing, they successfully resolved these issues, delivering a polished and competitive experience.

While the PC release is targeted for later this year, an exact launch date remains unconfirmed. The developers emphasize that the game is designed to welcome both series veterans and new players, blending nostalgic charm with modern refinements.
