HBO's critically acclaimed series, The Last of Us, is set to captivate audiences for four seasons, according to Francesca Orsi, an HBO executive. While Orsi was cautious to confirm this fully, she indicated that "it's looking like" the show will continue for two more seasons after the current one, rounding out the series. "I wouldn't want to confirm that, but it's looking like this season and then two more seasons after this, and we're done," she told Deadline.

Fans eagerly awaiting the return of The Last of Us can mark their calendars for April 2025. Orsi teased some exciting developments for the upcoming season, hinting at new survivalist factions with unique presentations in wardrobe and makeup that set them apart from typical characters.

11 ImagesIf you haven't caught up with the first season yet, there's still time before The Last of Us Season 2 premieres in April. Unlike Season 1, which adapted the entire first game, HBO plans to stretch the narrative of The Last of Us Part 2 across multiple seasons, with Season 2 concluding after seven episodes at a "natural breakpoint."

Season 2 will introduce several new characters to the series, including Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Tati Gabrielle as Mel. Details about Catherine O'Hara's role remain under wraps, adding an element of mystery to the upcoming season.

IGN's The Last of Us: Season 1 review praised the adaptation, describing it as "a stunning adaptation that should thrill newcomers and enrich those already familiar with Joel and Ellie's journey alike," and awarded it an impressive score of 9/10.
