Gran Turismo and Forza's main competitor Assetto Corsa EVO is released today

Get ready, racing fans! Kunos Simulazioni Studios is bringing Assetto Corsa EVO to Steam Early Access on January 16, 2025.

This initial release will feature a compelling roster of 20 meticulously detailed cars and 5 iconic tracks: Imola, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, Laguna Seca, and Suzuka. Despite being in early access, expect highly refined physics, precise handling, and remarkably realistic car behavior.

A standout feature is the inclusion of a free-roam mode. The developers plan a significant summer 2025 update introducing a vast, laser-scanned open world encompassing the legendary Nürburgring and its surrounding roads. This expansive environment, initially covering a staggering 1600 square kilometers, will grow progressively larger.

Assetto Corsa EVO boldly positions itself as a top-tier racing simulator, aiming to rival established giants like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. This ambition is backed by promises of photorealistic visuals and cutting-edge physics.

The full launch version envisions 100 vehicles and 15 tracks, with future free updates expanding this impressive lineup. Each circuit will boast painstakingly accurate detail, including dynamic tire wear, realistic wet-surface handling, and lively, animated spectators.

Further enhancements include refined vehicle dynamics, suspension damping, and shock absorption. Early Access players can hone their skills in Driving Academy mode, tackling time trials on the available tracks to earn a license unlocking access to the most prestigious vehicles. This mode is a key part of the planned single-player experience in Early Access.
