Google Play Store Might Soon Auto-Launch Installed Apps For You

Ever downloaded an app and then completely forgotten about it? While I haven't personally experienced this, the Google Play Store might have the perfect solution. A new feature in the works could automatically launch newly installed apps.

What's the Deal?

According to Android Authority, Google Play Store is developing a feature to streamline app installation. This potential addition would automatically open apps immediately after download completion. No more hunting for icons or wondering about download status – the app will launch directly.

Currently, this is based on an APK teardown of Play Store version 41.4.19, meaning it's unconfirmed and lacks a release date. However, if implemented, it would be called "App Auto Open" and importantly, be entirely optional. Users can enable or disable auto-launching as preferred.

The functionality is straightforward. Upon download completion, a notification banner will appear at the top of your screen for approximately five seconds, potentially accompanied by a sound or vibration (depending on your phone settings). This ensures you won't miss the notification, even during other activities.

This information remains unofficial, so a precise release date is unavailable. We’ll update you as soon as Google provides official confirmation.
