GOG Resurrects Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 on PC

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 27,2025

GOG resurrects the cult classic survival horror games, Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2, with DRM-free PC re-releases. Both titles, originally released on PlayStation, are now available on GOG's platform as part of their Preservation Program, retaining their original content.

While Dino Crisis 3 remains an Xbox exclusive, and despite fan calls for a new entry or HD remake, Capcom appears to have moved on, with Exoprimal seemingly ending any hope for a Dino Crisis revival. Even creator Shinji Mikami has expressed doubt, citing the success of Monster Hunter.

However, GOG's release is a significant boon for fans. Previously difficult to run on modern systems, these PC ports offer enhanced compatibility and numerous improvements.

Dino Crisis (GOG Version) Enhancements:

  • Full Windows 10 and 11 compatibility.
  • All six original localizations (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese).
  • Original, Arrange, and Operation Wipe Out modes.
  • Improved DirectX renderer.
  • Enhanced rendering options (Windowed Mode, VSync, Gamma Correction, Integer Scaling, Anti-Aliasing, etc.).
  • Up to 4K (1920p) resolution and 32-bit color depth.
  • Improved geometry, transformation, and texturing.
  • Enhanced alpha transparency.
  • Improved game registry settings.
  • Bug fixes for animation, video, music, and save file corruption.
  • Full modern controller support (DualSense, DualShock 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Switch, Logitech F series, and more).

Dino Crisis 2 (GOG Version) Enhancements:

  • Full Windows 10 and 11 compatibility.
  • English and Japanese localizations.
  • Inclusion of Easy difficulty, Dino Colosseum, and Dino Duel.
  • Improved DirectX renderer.
  • Enhanced rendering options (Windowed Mode, VSync, Gamma Correction, Integer Scaling, Anti-Aliasing, etc.).
  • Improved music playback and volume scaling.
  • Improved item rendering and fog effects.
  • Corrected cartridge box alignment.
  • Bug fixes for video playback, task switching, and game exit.
  • Full modern controller support (DualSense, DualShock 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Switch, Logitech F series, and more).

GOG also launched its Dreamlist, a community voting system to influence future game releases on the platform. This allows fans to directly express their desire for specific titles.
