GAMM: Italy

Rome's new GAMM: A gamer's paradise! The Game Museum, located in Piazza della Repubblica, is now open to the public. This ambitious project, spearheaded by Marco Accordi Rickards (writer, journalist, professor, and CEO of Vigamus), is a celebration of video game history, technology, and the art of gameplay.

GAMM builds upon the success of Vigamus, another Roman gaming museum that has welcomed over two million visitors since 2012. This expanded museum boasts 700 square meters across two floors, offering three distinct thematic areas:

Explore the Thrilling Worlds of GAMM:

  • GAMMDOME: This interactive digital playground combines historical artifacts (consoles, donations, and more) with engaging stations, all based on the 4E concept: Experience, Exhibition, Education, and Entertainment.

  • Path of Arcadia (PARC): Journey back to the golden age of arcade games! Relive the classics from the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s.

  • Historical Playground (HIP): A behind-the-scenes look at game design! Examine game mechanics, structure, and design principles. Think of it as a backstage pass to gaming history.

Visit GAMM:

The museum is open Monday-Thursday, 9:30 AM - 7:30 PM, and Friday-Saturday, 9:30 AM - 11:30 PM. Tickets cost 15 euros. Visit the official GAMM website for more information.
