What About The Winds of Winter?

For fans eagerly awaiting *The Winds of Winter*, the wait continues without a clear end in sight. The last update from Martin came in December 2024, where he expressed doubts about completing the book within his lifetime. This follows his November 2023 announcement that he had written 1,100 pages of the manuscript. While the absence of progress on *The Winds of Winter* is disheartening after nearly 14 years, the completion of the illustrated editions offers a silver lining. It appears likely that the first five illustrated editions will be finished before *The Winds of Winter* sees the light of day.
