"Forspoken Sparks Debate Among PS Plus Users Despite Being Free"

Nearly a year after its launch, Forspoken continues to stir debate among gamers, even as it became available for free on PS Plus. The discussions around its value are just as heated among those who accessed it without cost as those who paid full price.

When the PS Plus Extra and Premium lineup was unveiled for December 2024, PlayStation LifeStyle observed a notably enthusiastic response from the community. Many players expressed excitement about trying Forspoken alongside Sonic Frontiers.

However, the reception has been mixed. Some players who sampled Forspoken on PS Plus abandoned it after just a few hours, primarily due to what they described as 'ridiculous dialogue' and a weak narrative. On the other hand, some found the game's combat, parkour, and exploration elements engaging enough to keep playing. Yet, the general sentiment leans towards the game becoming intolerable if one pays attention to the story and dialogue.

It appears that even the PS Plus offering may not rejuvenate interest in Forspoken due to its inconsistent quality. In the action RPG, players control Frey, a New York girl who finds herself in the perilous yet beautiful world of Atia. Frey must harness her newfound magical abilities to navigate the expansive landscape, fight off creatures, and defeat powerful matriarchs known as the Tantas to find her way back home.
