FIFA eFootball World Cup 2024: FIFA Partners with Konami

Konami and FIFA's surprising esports collaboration: The FIFAe Virtual World Cup 2024!

This unexpected partnership follows years of competition between FIFA and PES. The FIFAe Virtual World Cup 2024 will be hosted on Konami's eFootball platform.

In-Game Qualifiers Now Live on eFootball!

The tournament features two divisions: Console (PS4 & PS5) and Mobile. Eighteen countries are vying for the final spots: Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey.

The qualifying rounds consist of a three-part in-game qualifier (October 10th-20th), followed by national nomination phases (October 28th-November 3rd). The offline final round will take place late 2024; the specific date is yet to be announced. Even if your country isn't among the 18, you can still participate in the qualifiers up to Round 3 and earn rewards (50 eFootball coins, 30,000 XP, and more).

The Unexpected FIFA and Konami Alliance

The collaboration is a significant turn of events, given their long-standing rivalry. EA Sports ended its partnership with FIFA in 2022 after a dispute over licensing fees (FIFA reportedly sought $1 billion every four years, a substantial increase from the previous $150 million). This led to the release of EA Sports FC 24 without the FIFA branding. Now, FIFA has found a new partner in Konami's eFootball for the FIFAe World Cup 2024.
