FFXIV Dawntrail Update 7.0 Patch Notes Arrive

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail's expansive 7.0 patch notes offer a sneak peek at the upcoming major update, just days before early access. The notes detail the locations for new Viper and Pictomancer job quests, alongside numerous system-wide changes within the MMORPG.

Dawntrail, the fifth expansion to Square Enix's acclaimed title, marks a new saga following Endwalker. It also boasts the game's first significant graphical overhaul since A Realm Reborn. The Warrior of Light's journey takes them to Tural, a western continent embroiled in a succession rite, where they ally with Hrothgar Wuk Lamat, a contender for the Dawnservant title. Square Enix urges players to be mindful of story spoilers on social media.

While the main storyline remains under wraps, the preliminary patch notes reveal additions like the Arcadion raid series and the Cenote Ja Ja Gural treasure dungeon (in future updates). A level 1 quest for a free Fantasia potion will be available in Ul'dah – Steps of Thal (X:13.4, Y:9.2). Locations for Dawntrail role quests are also specified, though access requires progression in the main storyline. Viper job quests begin with a Worried Weaver in Ul'dah – Steps of Nald (X:9.3, Y:9.2), while Pictomancer quests start with a Cheerless Hearer in Old Gridania (X:8.0, Y:10.3).

Key Highlights of Patch 7.0:

  • Introduction of the Arcadion raid and Cenote Ja Ja Gural treasure dungeon (future updates).
  • A new level 1 quest for a Fantasia potion in Ul'dah.
  • Locations revealed for Viper and Pictomancer job quests, and various Dawntrail role quests.
  • Addition of new collectible items and enhanced graphical options.

The notes also address server congestion concerns, outlining data center travel restrictions for two to four weeks. New craftable items, including housing exteriors and furnishings, are also mentioned. Graphical improvements include support for AMD FSR and Nvidia DLSS, along with in-game frame rate capping.

With Dawntrail's imminent release, players anticipate countless hours of engaging content, the completion time of which remains to be seen.
