Today marks an exciting day for Nintendo fans as the company opens its second official store in the United States, located in San Francisco's Union Square at 331 Powell Street. This new addition, known as Nintendo San Francisco, comes on the heels of the renowned New York location, which underwent a transformation from the Nintendo World Store to Nintendo NY, reopening in 2016 after extensive renovations and rebranding.

IGN had the opportunity to visit the San Francisco store and explore what Nintendo has in store for its fans. Additionally, we sat down with Nintendo of America's president, Doug Bowser, to delve into the reasons behind choosing now to open their first West Coast store.
