Star Wars Celebration unveiled thrilling new details about the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu-themed update for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, set to coincide with the release of the new movie. This update, launching on May 22, 2026, will introduce a choose-your-own-adventure storyline, allowing players to explore planets like Coruscant, Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor. Notably, Engineers will now have the unique opportunity to take care of Grogu, enhancing their role in the game.

This update will diverge from the plot of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, yet it will still feature Din Djarin and Grogu in exciting new scenarios. The storyline kicks off with Hondo Ohnaka discovering a secretive deal on Tatooine between ex-Imperial officers and pirates. This sets the stage for an intense, galaxy-spanning chase where guests team up with Mando and Grogu to track down the culprits and claim a bounty.

While specific details are still forthcoming, we know that the Engineer's role will be significantly expanded, as they will be responsible for looking after Grogu. In an interview with Walt Disney Imagineering's Asa Kalama, he provided insights into what players can anticipate. "Throughout the mission, we're going to be giving the engineers the opportunity to actually communicate with Grogu," Kalama explained. "It's going to be a lot of fun, especially when Mando needs to leave the Razor Crest, leaving Grogu to potentially get a bit playful with the control panel. We envision these fun vignettes where players are on the comm with Grogu."

Kalama also highlighted the choose-your-own-adventure aspect, noting, "There will be a critical moment in your adventure where you'll need to make a swift decision about which bounty to pursue. This decision will determine the destinations you visit, adding a dynamic layer to the experience."
