Marvel Rivals Season 1: Mastering Recursive Destruction in Midtown

Season 1 of Marvel Rivals introduces new characters, maps, and modes, along with a fresh set of challenges unlocking free rewards, including a Thor skin. This guide focuses on triggering Recursive Destruction in the Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown map.

Understanding Recursive Destruction

The initial challenge in the "Blood Moon Over the Big Apple" section requires triggering Recursive Destruction. This involves destroying Dracula-influenced objects that then reappear in their original form. However, not all destructible objects work; only specific ones will trigger this effect.

Identifying Eligible Objects

To locate these objects, utilize Chrono Vision. Accessible via the "B" key (keyboard) or the right D-pad button (console), Chrono Vision highlights destructible objects in red. Only red-highlighted objects will trigger Recursive Destruction.

Triggering Recursive Destruction in Midtown

This challenge is exclusive to the Quick Match (Midtown) mode. After loading into a match, focus on the initial objective (defending or attacking the Fantasticar). Initially, no red-highlighted objects will be visible. You must wait until the first checkpoint. At this point, two buildings appear on the map that are capable of triggering Recursive Destruction.

During the match, prioritize destroying these buildings. The reappearance might be missed amidst the action, but several hits should complete the challenge. If you don't successfully trigger Recursive Destruction three times, simply replay the match. After completing this challenge, you can move on to trying out Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman.

That's how to trigger Recursive Destruction in Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown in Marvel Rivals.

Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
