Prepare for a significantly expanded Yakuza/Like a Dragon experience! Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii promises to be substantially larger than its predecessor, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. RGG Studio's president, Masayoshi Yokoyama, revealed at RGG SUMMIT 2024 that the game's world and story will be 1.3 to 1.5 times bigger.

This isn't just a minor expansion; Yokoyama emphasized the game's dramatically increased scale, hinting at a scope beyond Honolulu (featured in Infinite Wealth) and including locations like Madlantis. The sheer volume of content, from signature brawling combat to the series' characteristic quirky side activities and mini-games, is set to be massively increased. Yokoyama further suggested the traditional "Gaiden" definition as a spin-off is evolving, implying this title will be a full-fledged experience comparable to mainline entries.

The game's setting in and around the Hawaiian islands offers a distinct change of pace. The charismatic Goro Majima, voiced again by Hidenari Ugaki, takes center stage in this unexpected pirate adventure. Majima's transformation into a Hawaiian pirate is shrouded in mystery, with Ugaki expressing excitement while remaining tight-lipped about details.

Adding to the intrigue, First Summer Uika (voice of Noah Ritchie) and Ryuji Akiyama (voice of Masaru Fujita) teased intriguing behind-the-scenes elements. Akiyama hinted at a surprising live-action scene and the presence of "many beautiful women" during recording, playfully suggesting a mistaken impression of popularity. These "beautiful women" may be related to the "Minato Ward girls," who will appear both in live-action and CG form, following auditions held earlier this year.
