‘Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince’ Is Coming to iOS, Android, and Steam on September 11th With All DLC Included From the Switch Release

TouchArcade Rating: Last year's Switch release of Square Enix's monster-collecting RPG, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, was a delightful experience despite some technical hiccups. Its charm and addictive gameplay easily surpassed other Dragon Quest spin-offs on the platform, rivaling the exceptional Dragon Quest Builders 2. While a PC port was anticipated shortly after the Switch launch, similar to Dragon Quest Treasures, a mobile release seemed far off. However, Square Enix surprised us today by announcing the arrival of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince ($23.99) on iOS, Android, and Steam on September 11th, complete with all previously released DLC, including the Digital Deluxe Edition content. Importantly, the store listings confirm that the real-time Online Battles network mode from the Switch version will be absent in the Steam and mobile releases.

The Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is currently priced at $59.99 (standard) and $84.99 (Digital Deluxe Edition). Having thoroughly enjoyed the Switch version, I'm eager to revisit it on iPhone, iPad, and Steam Deck upon its September 11th launch. This mobile port is a welcome surprise, especially considering the usual time lag between console and mobile releases in the Dragon Quest series (e.g., Dragon Quest Builders).
