Dodgeball Dojo is a new family-friendly, anime-inspired card game coming to iOS and Android

It seems that, nowadays, there's no shortage of anime-inspired mobile releases out there. Little surprise because, of all the Japanese exports, anime has been one of the most popular. And plenty of studios provide their own take on the medium, like today's subject, Dodgeball Dojo.

Now, and showing my lack of worldliness here, I initially thought the term "big two" was a reference to a popular anime series. However, pusoy dos, as it's known abroad, will be familiar to many of our readers from East Asia. It's a relatively simple card game where you need to create higher and higher combinations, thus ripe for translation to the digital realm.

That's not to say that Dodgeball Dojo is at all short on the animesque inspiration, of course. From the cel-shaded style to plenty of flashy character designs that wouldn't look out of place on the pages of Shonen Jump, if you're a fan of Japan's biggest cultural export, you'll be right at home here.

ytDodge!Dodgeball Dojo also boasts multiplayer play, and the ability to host private tournaments for friends or family. You can also unlock distinctive athletes with their own style of play, unlock different stadiums, and more. You'll be able to find Dodgeball Dojo on both iOS and Android come January 29th, so keep your eyes (and hands) open!
