First announced in 2018, the series boasts an eight-episode first season and a stellar production team. Castlevania's Adi Shankar serves as producer, while the animation is handled by Studio Mir, renowned for their work on The Legend of Korra and X-Men '97.

Plot specifics remain shrouded in mystery, but the series appears to center around Dante, likely drawing inspiration from the first three Devil May Cry games rather than Devil May Cry 5. Interestingly, Dante will be voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, who is known for voicing Nero in the video game franchise.

The last mainline entry in the Devil May Cry franchise was Devil May Cry 5, released in 2019. This title marked a triumphant return to form for the series, following a period of relative inactivity since 2013's DmC: Devil May Cry. Critically acclaimed as a top-tier action game, Devil May Cry 5 is highly recommended, especially for fans of titles like Ninja Gaiden Black 2. Read our comprehensive review of Devil May Cry 5 here.
