As you traverse the uncharted region, the climate grows increasingly unforgiving. Battling frigid temperatures is challenging enough, but you'll also face three furious Hirabami creatures in Monster Hunter Wilds.

The Hirabami presents an unexpectedly difficult battle in Monster Hunter Wilds. Unlike solitary monsters, these creatures prefer hunting in packs, significantly increasing combat difficulty. Large Dung Pods prove invaluable for scattering groups, allowing you to engage them individually.
Their aerial combat style creates additional challenges. While ranged weapons like bows provide straightforward targeting, melee combatants face complications. Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammunition offers a solution - shoot them down mid-flight using your Slinger. Alternatively, severing a Hirabami's tail yields Tail Claw Shards that convert into Heavy Slicing Pod ammo.
The Iceshard Cliffs arena contains three strategic traps: Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars. Successfully triggering these on a Hirabami's head delivers substantial damage while stunning the creature temporarily.
Targeting their heads remains the optimal strategy despite aerial positioning challenges. Ranged weapon users maintain a clear advantage, though melee fighters can strike necks during descent. Avoid torso attacks due to unusually high defense values in this area.
The Hirabami's erratic movements demand constant vigilance. Primary attacks include biting assaults and projectile spitting. Their aerial dive attacks require careful tracking of head movements for effective dodging.
Maintain mobility when targeted, but remain cautious of devastating tail swipe attacks capable of crushing impacts.

Successful captures require reducing health below 20%, indicated by skull icons appearing near the minimap monster marker. Immediately deploy Pitfall or Shock Traps when this threshold appears, followed promptly by Tranquilizer application. Failed attempts result in escape.
Captures conclude battles instantly but may reduce bonus material acquisition opportunities from weakened body parts.
Equip Large Dung Pods or activate SOS signals to simplify these encounters.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
