Dead Cells' final updates, "Clean Cut" and "The End is Near," have arrived, marking the culmination of years of continuous free content updates. This roguelike's consistent stream of new weapons, gear, enemies, and more has been a hallmark since its 2018 release, making the cessation of free updates ironically met with criticism from some players.

These final updates, however, are a substantial farewell. They introduce a combined four new weapons, including standout additions like the giant Sewing Scissors and the Misericorde. New game modes such as Speedrun and Boss Rush DIY are also included.

Furthermore, players can expect 40 new heads, multiple new enemy types, and a new NPC allowing for on-the-fly head customization. While future development will focus on quality-of-life improvements, the sheer volume of new content ensures Dead Cells will remain engaging for a considerable time.

The extensive free content provided over five years, alongside paid expansions, is a testament to Motion Twin and Evil Empire's commitment. The continued support with bug fixes and quality-of-life updates will undoubtedly maintain Dead Cells' relevance for years to come.
