Following the releases of *The Witcher 3* and *Cyberpunk 2077*, not all experts at CD Projekt RED remained with the company. Some chose to embark on a new journey with *The Blood of Dawnwalker*. This new game was recently unveiled by Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by a veteran from CD Projekt RED, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz.

Tomaszkiewicz shared his reasons for leaving CDPR, highlighting his desire to explore new creative avenues with friends. "I wanted to do something different with my friends, so I started Rebel Wolves," he explained. With a deep-rooted passion for role-playing games and their history, Tomaszkiewicz and his team believe in pushing the boundaries of traditional RPG mechanics. "We came up with some wild ideas," he said, acknowledging the challenge of convincing large corporations to embrace novel concepts and new intellectual properties. This realization led them to establish their own studio, where they could freely pursue these innovative ideas, despite the inherent risks involved.

At Rebel Wolves, the approach to development is more personal and direct. "Unlike in large studios where it's more complicated, we work with people and between people [relationships] in our studio," Tomaszkiewicz noted. He believes that a smaller team can achieve more due to the ease of communication and the simplicity of discussing and refining the creative vision. This environment fosters a "creative fire," making it easier to produce something truly unique.
