Crusader Kings III Chapter IV: New Horizons with Mongols and Asia

Paradox Interactive has outlined the roadmap for Crusader Kings III throughout 2025, focusing on the highly anticipated Chapter IV. This chapter introduces expansive Asian content, enriched with innovative mechanics and uncharted territories to discover.

Leading the charge is the recently launched cosmetic DLC, Crowns of the World. This compact yet elegant addition provides players with six distinctive crowns, four hair styles, and two beards, offering fresh ways to customize their rulers.

On April 28, the first major DLC, Khans of the Steppe, will arrive, enabling players to take control of the Mongols. As the Great Khan, you'll lead a nomadic horde, expanding your dominion across lands and asserting supremacy over neighboring regions.

Following closely, Coronations will bring a ceremonial system to the game, allowing players to legitimize their rule through elaborate coronation events. These ceremonies involve hosting lavish festivities, making solemn oaths, and charting the course of your realm. Additionally, new advisor and vassal interactions will deepen political gameplay. Set for release in Q3 (July–September), this DLC adds layers to royal succession.

The chapter wraps up with All Under Heaven, a substantial expansion launching later this year. It presents the complete East Asian map, featuring intricate depictions of China, Korea, Japan, and the Indonesian archipelago, granting players access to immense new landscapes to conquer and explore.

In the interim, Paradox will roll out patches to fine-tune game systems and AI behavior. The development team is actively engaging with the community to gather feedback for future updates, with the next Q&A session scheduled for March 26.
