Essence Stones are exciting new items introduced in *Fields of Mistria* with the game's March 2025 update. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to find, craft, and utilize Essence Stones of various sizes.

With the March 2025 update, *Fields of Mistria* players can discover Essence Stones in chests scattered throughout the mines. I stumbled upon my first Essence Stone while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60. However, these chests can appear on any level across various biomes and floors. Be cautious of mimic enemies that mimic chests and can harm you upon interaction.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but with diligent searching, you can uncover larger deposits. If you're struggling to find them, consider crafting them at the Stone Refinery, which you can build within the mines.

Crafting Essence Stones is possible at the Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria*. This new feature is part of a story quest introduced in the March 2025 update, requiring you to construct the refinery from scratch within the mines. After completing the necessary quests, Adeline will enlist your assistance along with Olric and Errol.

To build the Stone Refinery, gather the following materials:

  • x200 Wood
  • x400 Stone
  • x5,000 Tesserae

Once the refinery is up and running, you can craft Essence Stones of various sizes. Each stone requires Stone and Essence, with the quantities varying by size:

**Tiny Essence Stone**x5 Stone
x5 Essence
**Small Essence Stone**x10 Stone
x25 Essence
**Medium Essence Stone**x20 Stone
x50 Essence
**Large Essence Stone**x40 Stone
x100 Essence

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery allows you to craft a range of common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items such as Obsidian and Diamond. This makes it a vital hub for crafting supplies needed for new builds and other projects in Mistria.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update brought the long-awaited auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics to *Fields of Mistria*, both powered by Essence Stones. Larger stones provide a longer charge, making Large Essence Stones the best choice for extended use.

The auto-petter mechanic is linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. This statue ensures all animals inside are automatically petted each day when powered by an Essence Stone. You can find this rare statue in a concealed cave next to Errol’s house in the Narrows by using the Dragon’s Breath spell on the entrance. Once unlocked, you can craft additional statues if needed.

The sprinkler mechanic is activated by the Water Sprite Statue, which you can place anywhere on your farm. It automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius as long as it's powered by an Essence Stone. You can craft more of these statues to suit your farm's needs. Find the statue and a crafting scroll on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse area. Access it by swimming and using Dragon’s Breath on the entrance.

Essence Stones are set to play an increasingly important role in *Fields of Mistria* with future updates from NPC Studio.
