Code Geass: Lost Stories Mobile Game Ending Globally Soon

The strategic tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, based on the beloved anime and manga series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, is set to bid farewell to its global mobile player base. While the Japanese version continues its journey, the global shutdown has been confirmed. Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game was launched worldwide in September 2023 but won't reach its first anniversary.

When Is It Shutting Down?

Code Geass: Lost Stories will cease operations on August 29th, 2024. Players have a limited window to savor their final moments in the game, as access to accounts will be terminated after this date. Additionally, the game's official global social media accounts will shut down on the same day. As of now, new downloads and in-game purchases are no longer available. Despite the global closure, the game maintains a dedicated following in Japan.

Why Is Code Geass: Lost Stories Shutting Down?

Despite blending RPG, action, and tower defense elements with the allure of a popular anime, Code Geass: Lost Stories is facing closure. The developers have not disclosed specific reasons, but it's clear that low download numbers and less favorable global reviews played a role. Licensed anime gacha games often struggle to retain a robust player base outside Japan, where spending tends to be higher. This likely contributed to the decision to shut down the game so soon after its launch.

For players in Japan interested in experiencing Code Geass: Lost Stories, the game is available on the Google Play Store.
