Onimusha: Way of the Sword unveiled its protagonist, Miyamoto Musashi, whose striking resemblance to the iconic Toshiro Mifune is achieved through masterful character modeling by Capcom. The trailer depicts Musashi's valiant, and occasionally humorous, battles against demons invading Kyoto from the underworld.

The narrative centers on Musashi's divinely bestowed power, the Oni Gauntlet, which empowers him to combat these monstrous creatures and absorb their souls. This act not only replenishes his health but also unlocks potent special abilities.
