The classic RPG, Breath of Fire IV, has made a triumphant return to PC gaming, 25 years after its initial release. Originally launched on the PlayStation in Japan and North America in 2000, followed by Europe in 2001, the game saw a PC port in Europe and Japan in 2003. Now, thanks to GOG’s Preservation Program, fans can once again embark on this epic adventure, fully optimized for modern PCs and available DRM-free.

The game follows the journey of Ryu, a protagonist who possesses the unique ability to transform into a dragon. Alongside a band of warriors, Ryu aims to thwart an emperor's destructive ambitions and save the world. This enhanced version of Breath of Fire IV not only supports Windows 10 and 11 but also offers both English and Japanese localizations. Players will enjoy improved graphics courtesy of an upgraded DirectX renderer, along with new display options such as Windowed Mode, V-Sync, Anti-Aliasing, and refined gamma correction for enhanced visuals.
