Bloodborne, the critically acclaimed 2015 RPG, remains a fan favorite. Many players eagerly await the chance to revisit the gothic world of Yharnam on current-gen consoles. While no official announcement has been made, recent posts on FromSoftware and PlayStation Italia's Instagram pages featuring the game have fueled speculation.

On August 24th, FromSoftware shared three images showcasing the game's title and the hashtag "#bloodborne." One image depicted Djura, a formidable hunter encountered in Old Yharnam. The others highlighted the Hunter exploring Yharnam's heart and the haunting Charnel Lane graveyards.

Although these posts might simply be a nostalgic throwback, dedicated Bloodborne fans on platforms like Twitter (X) are meticulously analyzing every detail, searching for hints confirming a remaster. The timing is particularly intriguing, especially considering a similar post by PlayStation Italia on August 17th.

PlayStation Italia's post, translated, asked fans to choose their favorite iconic Bloodborne location from a series of images, sparking a wave of comments expressing the desire for a Yharnam return. Many reminisced about their favorite locations, while others humorously suggested the most iconic location would be on PC or modern consoles.

The Hunt for a Modern Bloodborne Continues - Almost a Decade Later

Released exclusively for PS4 in 2015, Bloodborne has cultivated a devoted following and is widely considered one of the greatest video games ever created. Despite its success, a sequel or remaster remains elusive.

Fans often cite the 2020 remake of Demon's Souls (originally released in 2009) as a precedent for a potential Bloodborne revival. However, the lengthy wait for the Demon's Souls remake has fueled concerns that Bloodborne might face a similar extended development period. With the game's tenth anniversary approaching, anticipation is at an all-time high.

Fuel was added to the fire in a February interview with Eurogamer, where Bloodborne director Hidetaka Miyazaki acknowledged the advantages of remastering the game for modern hardware, emphasizing improved accessibility for a wider audience.

While Miyazaki's comments offer a ray of hope, the ultimate decision rests with Sony, not FromSoftware. Unlike Elden Ring, which FromSoftware fully publishes, Bloodborne's IP rights are held by Sony. Miyazaki has previously stated that he is not in a position to discuss Bloodborne's future due to this.
