Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a treasure trove of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, highlighted by the reveal of a new map called The Tomb. This January 15 celebration is a special holiday for Call of Duty players, featuring a comprehensive blog breakdown of all the upcoming zombie-themed surprises. The star of today’s announcements is The Tomb, a sandy new Zombies map set to debut with the launch of Season 2 on January 28. This means fans will have another exciting addition to the Zombies universe just two weeks after Season 1’s Citadelle des Morts.

Following the harrowing events at Citadelle des Morts, characters Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya are led by Gabriel Krafft’s final words to an excavation site to secure the Sentinel Artifact. The Tomb is built on ancient burial grounds with origins possibly dating back to 2500 B.C.E., untouched until the early 1900s. What lies beneath these catacombs could be more profound than anyone ever imagined. The map ties into the story of a British archaeologist, Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe, though details on how it fits into the broader Zombies narrative remain scarce.

In terms of gameplay, The Tomb promises an experience akin to Liberty Falls, offering tight play spaces focused on replayability as players uncover numerous Easter eggs. Treyarch also teased a reimagined Wonder Weapon inspired by past entries and the return of an iconic SMG, with further details yet to be revealed.

Season 2 also brings a suite of quality-of-life improvements and new features that the community has been requesting since the game's launch. Players will now be able to track up to 10 Calling Card and 10 Camo challenges in both Zombies and Multiplayer. Zombies mode will feature a co-op pause option, allowing the party leader to pause a match mid-run. HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will be separated, and players will be able to rejoin Zombies matches with their loadout if they are disconnected.

To celebrate 115 Day, Black Ops 6 players can enjoy double GobbleGum earn rates, as well as double player, weapon, and Battle Pass XP until 10am PT on January 21. Treyarch also shared some impressive stats about the story-driven Directed Mode, revealing that players have spent over 480 million hours playing Black Ops 6 Zombies. The team's goal with Directed Mode was to grow the Zombies community by guiding new players through the Main Quests, and the results are promising. Since its launch, the average Main Quest completion rate has more than doubled, from 3.38% on November 14 to 8.23% today.

Fans are eager to hear the voices of the Zombies characters when The Tomb goes live, especially after Activision announced last month that some beloved characters were recast due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
