Monster Hunter Wilds simplifies many series mechanics, making monster tracking largely unnecessary. However, the Black Flame presents a small exception. Here's how to find it.

Around the midpoint of Monster Hunter Wilds' Chapter 3, the Black Flame monster appears, then vanishes into the Oilwell Basin. Your task: locate and defeat it.

Exit Base Camp and head towards Zone 9, as shown in the map below.

Along the way, you'll discover tar tracks. Examining them reveals the Black Flame's trail, automatically guiding your scoutflies. Simply follow the green path illuminated by the scoutflies in Zone 9 (near the large flaming crater) to find the Black Flame.

The Black Flame, also known as Nu Udra, is a tentacled creature wielding fire-based attacks. Strategically targeting and severing a few tentacles first significantly eases the fight, granting access to its inner weak points for better material yields.

Carrying several Cool Drinks is highly recommended to counter the region's intense heat and prevent continuous health depletion.
