The Battle of Polytopia has spiced up its competitive scene with the introduction of Weekly Challenges, adding a thrilling new dimension to this beloved 4X strategy game. If you're eager to test your strategic prowess in a fresh and exciting way, keep reading to discover everything you need to know about this update.
You're familiar with the unpredictable nature of The Battle of Polytopia, where randomness in enemies, resources, and maps keeps every game session unique. However, with the latest free update, the game's competition has taken on a more structured approach.
Each week, players will face the same map, tribe, and gameplay conditions, leveling the playing field. The challenge? Within 20 turns, you must achieve the highest possible score. You get one attempt per day, allowing a maximum of seven tries per week.
This new feature also gives you the chance to play as tribes you might not yet own. The game boasts a total of 16 tribes—four included in the base game and twelve additional tribes available for purchase at $1-4 each. In The Battle of Polytopia Weekly Challenges, everyone competes with the same tribe, regardless of whether they own it.
Absolutely, the Weekly Challenges promise to inject a new level of excitement into The Battle of Polytopia. Alongside this, the game introduces a League system. Starting in the Entry League, your performance each week determines whether you advance or drop. The top third of players move up a league, the bottom third move down, and the middle third remain in their current league.
As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty ramps up. In the Entry League, you'll encounter AI on Easy difficulty, but by the time you reach the Gold League, you'll be facing off against bots set to Crazy difficulty. Missing a week won't result in demotion, but your ranking will adjust based on the performance of other players.
