Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios unveil "Avatar: Seven Havens," a new animated series expanding the beloved Avatar universe. Created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the original series creators, this 26-episode 2D animated series marks a significant addition to the Avatar legacy, celebrating its 20th anniversary.

"Avatar: Seven Havens" introduces a young Earthbender, the next Avatar after Korra, navigating a post-cataclysmic world. This new Avatar faces a perilous journey, branded not as a savior, but as a harbinger of destruction, hunted by both human and spirit foes. Forced to uncover her mysterious origins alongside her long-lost twin, she must protect the Seven Havens before civilization crumbles.

In a joint statement, DiMartino and Konietzko expressed their excitement, stating that this new chapter in the Avatarverse is brimming with fantasy, mystery, and a fresh ensemble of characters. The series will be structured into two 13-episode seasons, "Book 1" and "Book 2," with Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi serving as executive producers alongside the creators. Casting details are yet to be revealed.

This marks the first major television series from Avatar Studios, who are concurrently developing a feature-length animated film centered on Aang, slated for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026. The film will depict an older Aang embarking on a new adventure.

Further celebrating the 20th anniversary, Avatar Studios has also announced a range of new merchandise, including books, comics, concerts, toys, and a Roblox game.
