Not only Valve's Gabe Newell is renowned for his email responses, but not all the news shared is good for fans reaching out. A Reddit user recently shared their interaction with Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney. The player had one burning question: when would Alan Wake 2 by Remedy be released on Steam?

To the dismay of the gamer, Sweeney's response was brief and definitive, simply stating that the release on Steam would not happen, with no further elaboration. This left the user with no choice but to move to plan B: they expressed their intention to purchase the game on Xbox instead.

What sets Alan Wake 2 apart from most Epic Games Store exclusives is that Epic Games not only published this horror title but also co-financed its development alongside Remedy. Remedy has reported that the sales of Alan Wake 2 met their business forecasts, and they were pleased with the collaboration. However, looking forward, Remedy plans to self-publish future games, which means these titles will be available on platforms like Steam as well. Despite this, more than a year after its release, Alan Wake 2 has yet to turn a profit.
