Tarneeb is a card game played by two teams, each consisting of two players sitting opposite each other. Using a standard 52-card deck, gameplay proceeds counter-clockwise. The goal for each player is to accurately estimate the number of "Allmat" (tricks) their team can win in each round.
The player who wins the bid to declare "Tarneeb" throws a type of paper onto the floor. Other players must then throw papers of the same type. The first player to successfully match the paper type wins the "Bamh." If a player doesn't possess the required paper type, they forfeit their "Tarneeb" option. "Tarneeb" papers are superior to other paper types; the player throwing the strongest "Tarneeb" paper wins unless a stronger one is played.
The round concludes when all players have played their cards. Points are tallied. A team only receives points if they successfully meet or exceed their bid for the number of "Allmat" they predicted. If successful, their total "Allmat" count is added to their score; the opposing team receives no points. If unsuccessful, the "Allmat" count of the opposing team is added to their score, and the bidding team loses points.
If either team achieves 13 tricks without bidding for 13, 16 points are added to their total score. If a team bids for and wins 13 tricks, they receive 26 points. Failure to achieve a bid of 13 results in a 16-point deduction.
The game ends when a team reaches a total score of 41 or more points; that team is declared the winner.
