Master the art of word discovery with Squares! This daily word puzzle challenges you to build words within a grid to complete squares and maximize your score. Let's explore the gameplay and strategies to become a Squares champion.
How to Play:
Connect adjacent letters in any direction—up, down, left, right, or diagonally—to form words. The objective is to uncover all the words hidden within the letter grid, earning points for each successful word.
Game Rules:
- Scoring: Each letter in a valid word earns you one point (a five-letter word scores five points).
- Word Length: Words must contain at least four letters.
- Letter Usage: Each tile can only be used once per word.
- Excluded Words: Hyphenated words, proper nouns, offensive language, and uncommon terms are not included in the main word list.
Bonus Challenges:
- Bonus Words: These are less common words (obscure, archaic, or slang) that don't contribute to your main score but appear in a separate list. The hunt continues even after you've found all the main words!
- Word of the Day: Each puzzle features a special, often longer bonus word. Discovering it rewards you with two extra hints!
Gameplay Features:
- Daily Puzzle: A new Squares puzzle is available daily at midnight.
- Grid Rotation: Rotate the grid left or right using the bottom-right corner buttons for a fresh perspective. Changing your view can unlock hidden words.
- Letter Hints (40% Progress): Once you've found 40% of the words, a hint system activates. Numbers appear on each letter, indicating how many words begin with that letter (a zero means no words start with that letter). Letters turning orange signify they've been used in all main words but might still appear in bonus words.
- Hints: Each puzzle offers 3 to 5 hints (lightbulb icons). Using a hint reveals the first letter of a random word and its search direction. The number of hints depends on puzzle difficulty. Sharing your game link with friends earns you an additional hint!
