Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct, set for January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual event, and the first game showcase of the new year. The tradition began in January 2023, with a second event following in January 2024.

The 2025 showcase will begin at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating around January 9th.

Game Spotlights:

Three titles have been confirmed for the showcase:

• South of Midnight: This stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few) was initially revealed in June 2023. A release date is anticipated.

• Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France), aiming for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.

• Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, this title was announced in June 2024 and showcased at QuakeCon 2024. A mid-2025 launch is rumored.

While these three games are confirmed, previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and featured multiple game reveals. Expect potential surprises beyond these announcements, similar to the 2024 event which included previews of Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana.
