Unlock the Secrets to Sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 11,2025

This guide details how to get the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance, sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.

Quick Links

After removing your Source collar, your goal is to get the Lady Vengeance underway. This isn't done through conventional means; you must discover a unique method. Explore the ship, talk to NPCs, and gather clues. The key is accessing Magister Dallis' cabin and the Ancient Empire Songbook within.

Investigate Dead Bodies

Begin by searching the bodies of the magisters and ghouls on deck. A Sodden Diary on one corpse contains a password for a stateroom door. You can also obtain this password via a skill check with the northern stateroom door. You'll also need a Strange Gem, found later, to interact with the door. A magic mirror near the staterooms allows for unlimited respeccing, useful for skill checks.

Find the Portside Stateroom

Using the password and the Strange Gem (obtained by examining Bishop Alexander's regalia in the ship's quarters), unlock the Portside Stateroom door. The password is "Fortitude". Inside Magister Dallis' cabin, you'll find a hidden hatch (containing ghouls and a Teleportation Prism) and, importantly, the next item.

Find the Songbook

Talk to Dallis and Tarquin. Locate the Ancient Empire Songbook on a pedestal in Dallis' cabin. Reading it reveals the song needed to move the ship. It's advisable to speak to all NPCs before proceeding, as interaction will be impossible once the ship sails.

Set Sail

Return to the deck and speak to Malady. She'll ask you to sing the song to the ship. Find the dragon figurine on the west side of the deck and sing the song using the interaction option. The Lady Vengeance will start moving, but be prepared for an immediate ambush from powerful magisters. Ensure your party is adequately prepared for a challenging battle.
